Everything you need to write about BitePattern. Copy any of it verbatim — that is what it is for. If you need something that is not here, ask.
Boilerplate
One line
BitePattern is a fishing log that works with no signal, and a planner that answers from your own catches rather than a generic solunar table.
Short paragraph
BitePattern records what you catch and the conditions you caught it in — tide, barometer trend, wind relative to your beach, swell, sea temperature, light and moon — for every trip and every individual fish. It then compares the coming forecast against the days you actually caught, and tells you where to go, when to be there, and how sure it is. It works completely offline, because a fish does not wait for a loading spinner.
Longer, if you have the room
Most fishing apps are built around the photograph. BitePattern is built around the record — including the mornings you caught nothing, which are counted, kept, and used. Without those, every condition looks equally productive and nothing can be learned.
Conditions attach to each individual fish rather than to the trip as a whole, which is what lets it answer questions a session-level log structurally cannot — such as whether your kob came in the last hour before high water. The planner then matches a forecast against your own nearest past days and names the real trips behind every answer.
It is also honest about what it does not know. Under three logged trips it offers textbook guidance and says so. From fifteen it re-weights itself around what actually matters at your marks. At no point does it claim more certainty than your record supports, and it never promises fish.

What makes it different
- It logs with no signal at all. Not “syncs later” — GPS, camera and the keypad work with the radio off. Nothing on the fast path waits for a network.
- Conditions attach to every fish, not every trip. A schema decision, not a feature, and the hardest thing here to copy.
- It tells you when it does not know. Three honesty modes, always visible.
- Blanks are counted. Zero-catch trips sit in the list in grey and feed the analysis.
- Marks are never published or sold. No crowd map, no hot-spot feature, no advertising.

Using the logo
- Keep clear space on all four sides equal to the diameter of the marked node
- Minimum 132 px wide for the horizontal lockup, 32 px for the mark alone
- Do not recolour the contours or the node, stretch it, or add glows, bevels or shadows
- Never place it on a busy photograph — put it on a solid panel first
The mark is three identical contours — a repeating pattern — with the top one lit and a single node marked: the moment it resolves into a bite.
How to refer to it
- BitePattern — one word, capital B and capital P. Not “Bite Pattern”, not “Bitepattern”.
- It is a fishing log and planner, or a pattern engine. Please do not call it AI — it is nearest-neighbour matching over an angler’s own records, and we would rather be described accurately.
- Data source for weather, marine and tide: Open-Meteo, used under CC-BY 4.0.
